Front Center is Hilda Huggins (Nan Melton)
Back Center is James Huggins
Seated Right is James Huggins Snr nursing Florence later to become Florrie Joyce.

This is James Huggins at age 16.
Photograph taken approx 1909.
James would be my Great Grandfather.

Pictured here is James Huggins again.
The year is unknown as yet although from the photograph we know it is sometime around the 1st world war.
We have discovered from the cap badge James is wearing that he was a private in the Queens Regiment.
Research has just also uncovered a William James Huggins in the same regiment and we have just had confirmation that this is James's Brother.
William James Huggins later emigrated to Canada.
Here is a link to a web site we have listing James Huggins below.

The following information and photographs have been kindly supplied by Andrew Huggins.

Herbert Huggins and Eileen Mallett were married in the September quarter of 1932, daughter Gwendoline arrived in the same quarter so I have the suspicion of a bit of a rushed marriage! Incidentally Aunty Gwen emigrated to Canada in the 70’s with her 2nd husband, they live in Sault St Marie. At some point in 1940/41 the marriage of Herbert & Eileen broke up. Herbert married Ada Rose Batch (born 19th September 1915) 18th April 1942. Their children are as follows:

Michael Herbert 07/07/1945 married Cynthia Johnson 1966 (Tina 15/04/1967 Donna 10/09/1969 Lisa 11/09/1973

Malcolm James (my father) 12/11/1946-09/11/2007 married Janet Adcock 1969 div 1987 (Andrew James 22/12/1969 Simon Richard 26/06/1972)

Jennifer L (she’ll kill me as I can’t remember what the L is!!) 15/03/1950 married Nigel Hurn 1968 (Mark Ian 01/11/1969 Neil Johnathon 13/05/1973 Marie Lynn 20/09/1974)

Graham R 21/02/1952 married Jane Sayer 1974 (Katy Jane 25/10/1980 Alan Graham 31/03/1983)

Ian John 21/03/1956 married Heather Harrod 1977 (Amy Louise 02/07/1981 Emily Clare 09/07/1983)

I’m not sure when the photos of Herbert were taken, the older one I suspect was around 1965. The photo of the wedding shows one of his brothers though I don’t know which one, the girl on the front left I suspect to be Gwen. The chief bridesmaid I think is here sister May. The older gentleman is my Great Grandfather Frank Batch, he was a couple of years younger than Great Grandfather William Huggins who is featured with such a fabulous photograph on your site.
